Introduction:
Reflection of Specific Wavelengths of Light: The Red coloured plastic mulch reflects light in the Red and Far-Red spectrum back onto the plants. Plants contain a photoreceptor called Phytochrome, which is sensitive to red light. Red Mulch Films reflect red light from the Sun onto the plants, which helps in activation of Phytochrome which furthers flowering and seed germination process.
Stimulating Plant Growth: The wavelengths of Red light reflected by Red plastic mulch improves the overall health of plants. Red light is highly absorbed by Chlorophyll, the pigment responsible for Photosynthesis, making it a primary driver for converting light energy into chemical energy (sugar).
